Carrying Positionts

Cradle Carry ~ Newborn to about one year old

For your baby’s safety, always practice new carrying positions when you are sitting or kneeling down.

Follow the steps on the Wearing Instructions page to position the pouch on your body. With the reinforced pouch seam at your midline, gently place baby between the two layers of the pouch.

Once positioned in the pouch, baby’s head should be slightly higher than her body. See Safety Instructions for additional instructions for newborns.

 

Tummy-To-Tummy ~ Older than three months

For your baby’s safety, always practice new carrying positions when you are sitting or kneeling down.

Follow the steps on the Wearing Instructions page to position the pouch on your body.

Hold baby/toddler securely against your chest facing towards you.

While holding baby securely against your body, gently tuck baby's legs through the pouch "loop" so that the pouch is no longer between the two of you.

Separate the layers of the pouch and place baby’s bottom between the layers.

Reposition baby’s legs so that they straddle the front of your body.

The reinforced seam of the pouch should run along baby’s spine.


 

Hip Carry ~ Older than three months

For your baby’s safety, always practice new carrying positions when you are sitting or kneeling down.

Follow the steps on the “Wearing Instructions” page to position the pouch on your body.

Hold baby/toddler securely against your chest facing towards you. Tip: The pouch should be on one shoulder, and baby should be held securely against your chest on the opposite side of your body.

While holding baby securely against your body, gently tuck baby's legs through the pouch "loop" so that the sling is no longer between the two of you.

Separate the layers of the pouch and place baby’s bottom between the layers.

Reposition baby’s legs so that they straddle the side of your body.

The reinforced seam of the pouch should run along baby’s spine.

 

Forward Facing ~ Older than three months

For your baby’s safety, always practice new carrying positions when you are sitting or kneeling down.

Follow the steps on the Wearing Instructions page to position the pouch on your body.

With the reinforced pouch seam at your midline, hold baby securely against your chest, facing out. Baby should also be at your midline.
Gently cross baby’s legs up and in front of her abdomen.

Place her bottom between the layers of the pouch.

Once positioned in the pouch, her legs should be in front of her torso, not beneath it.
